Izzy Birrell Brand Designer

What I do

I have over 15 years experience in the design industry and set up Isabel & Ink in 2016. Being a small business owner myself, I fully understand the overwhelming nature of starting your own venture and the administrative challenges that come with it. I'm passionate about collaborating with solopreneurs and start-ups to bring their vision to life, designing thoughtful logos, developing successful websites, and creating printed and digital marketing materials.

My approach

I provide a considered design service to achieve a look that is reflective of your company and values. Above all, my aim is to create an aesthetic that you are proud of and will help your business grow. I work closely with my clients, offering guidance when necessary and adopting a stress-free approach. As a Squarespace website designer, I use this platform to translate the completed logo and brand identity into stylish and functional websites.

“Izzy has been supporting my business since early 2016. Since day one we have been so impressed with her professionalism and ability to understand exactly what we’re aiming for whilst we struggle to put it into words! Izzy has helped us to communicate our message to guests and in turn significantly drive sales. Thank you Izzy!”

A little more about me

I began my career in the world of marketing and events, serving distinguished interior design and fashion firms. As my early twenties unfolded, I realised my true passion lay in being the creative force behind the designs themselves.

In 2015, I trained at Shillington College, London and haven’t looked back since. I am grateful to immerse myself in a job that brings me so much joy. Working collaboratively with inspiring entrepreneurs and business owners, I take pride in designing logos and brand identities with a personable and supportive approach.

Today, I live in the south of England with my husband, two daughters, two cocker spaniels, two farm cats and two tortoises!

What’s behind the name

Isabel - my own name (although I am called Izzy 99% of the time).

Ink - I have always loved calligraphy. Visiting Venice at a young age, I was in awe of the traditional stationery shops at every turn; an array of beautiful quills, vibrant ink bottles and meticulously crafted papers. My love of stationery and the art of pen-to-paper grew from there. I brought my first quill aged 14 and I am a self-taught calligrapher. So much of my work requires me to be on the computer so calligraphy, sketching and doodling can offer wonderful respite from the technology world.
